The WA State Government has announced changes to the regulated electricity tariffs, effective from 1st July 2021.
The changes accounts affect both residential and business electricity prices.
If you are a Bright Connect customer and your electricity price is linked to a Synergy tariff, your Bright Connect tariff will be adjusted in line with the changes as of 1st July 2021.
All Bright Connect customers will receive notification of the price changes with their July invoice.
The Synergy A1 tariff has been increased by 1.75%; this increase applies to the usage charge (the rate you pay per unit or kWh) and the daily supply charge.
The good news for Bright Connect customers is any discount you are receiving against the Synergy A1 tariff will remain in place. For example, if you were previously receiving a 10% discount to the Synergy A1 price prior to 1st July 2021, you will still receive a 10% discount against the new Synergy A1 price.
The table below shows the Synergy A1 prices, along with prices after a 10% Bright Connect Discount is applied. Pricing in the table is inclusive of GST.
Note: Discounts applied vary from building to building. Please check your invoice for the discount applicable to your building and tenancy type.
Current Price | New Price (effective 1st July 2021) | |
---|---|---|
Synergy A1 Usage Charge | 28.8229c/kWh | 29.3273c/kWh |
With 10% Bright Connect Discount | 25.9406c/kWh | 26.6612c/kWh |

The Synergy L1 and L3 prices have also been adjusted as of 1st July 2021. The L1 tariff has increased by 1.75% (in line with residential price rises) and the L3 tariff has decreased by 3.45%.
As with our residential customers, any discount you were receiving against a Synergy tariff will remain in place.
