The WA State Government has recently announced upcoming changes to the regulated electricity tariffs, set to be implemented on 1st July 2023. These changes will impact both residential and business electricity prices across the state.
If you are currently a Bright Connect customer with your electricity price linked to a Synergy tariff, your Bright Connect tariff will be adjusted accordingly, aligning with the new changes starting from 1st July 2023.
To ensure transparency and keep you informed, all Bright Connect customers will receive notifications regarding the price adjustments along with their July invoices.
Residential Prices
Under the new tariffs, the Synergy A1 tariff will see an increase of 2.5% in both the usage charge (the rate per unit or kWh) and the daily supply charge.
The good news for Bright Connect customers is that any existing discount you currently receive on the Synergy A1 tariff will remain unaffected. For instance, if you were previously benefiting from a 10% discount on the Synergy A1 price prior to 1st July 2023, you will continue to enjoy a 10% discount on the new Synergy A1 price.
Please refer to the table below for the current Synergy A1 prices and the prices after applying a 10% Bright Connect Discount. All prices mentioned include GST.

Business Prices
Effective from 1st July 2023, adjustments will also be made to the Synergy L1 and L3 prices for business customers. The L1 tariff will experience a 2.5% increase, aligning with the changes in residential prices, while the L3 tariff will undergo a 3.74% decrease.
Similar to our residential customers, any existing discounts you currently receive on a Synergy tariff will continue to be applied to your business account.
